To be eligible to apply for Singapore PR, you should be one of the following:

Employment Pass Holder / Personalized Employment Pass Holder

S Pass Holder

Spouse of a Singaporean or Singapore PR (LTVP, LTVP+, or DP)

Unmarried child below 21 years old, born within a legal marriage context, or have been legally adopted by a Singaporean or Singapore PR.

Student Pass holders who have resided in Singapore for at least two years and passed at least one national exam (i.e. PSLE or GCE ‘N’/’O’/’A’ levels) or are in the Integrated Programme.

What is the processing time for permanent residence (PR) applications?

All applications for PR are carefully considered and reviewed by ICA. Generally, PR applications take about six months to process, provided all the required documents are submitted. Depending on the complexity of the case, some applications may take more than six months to process.

Can a Singapore PR be a self-employed person?

Yes. A Singapore PR can be a self-employed person. Please note that PR status does not exempt an individual from registration or any other conditions required under the respective professions for which professional registration to practice in Singapore is a prerequisite.

Are there any interviews required for Singapore Permanent Residency applications?

No. There are no interviews required for Singapore PR applications.
The Singapore PR applicant or sponsor will be notified if more information or documents are required.

Can I leave Singapore while waiting for the outcome of my Singapore Permanent Residence application?

Yes, you can.
If the application is approved, the applicant must return to Singapore for the completion of formalities to become a Singapore Permanent Resident.

What is the passport validity required for the application of Singapore Permanent Residence (PR)?

A travel document with at least six months’ validity at the point of submission is a pre-requisite for Singapore PR applications.
