Requirements for Singapore Citizenship
Becoming a Singapore citizen requires some important paperwork and steps, but you’re not alone in this. If you’re unsure, just drop us a message anytime.
The following persons are eligible to apply for Singapore Citizenship:
Have been a Singapore PR for at least 2 years and aged at least 21 years old. You can apply together with your spouse and any unmarried children below 21 years old (born within the context of a legal marriage or legally adopted by you).
Sponsorship: Have been a Singapore PR for at least 2 years and married to a Singaporean for at least 2 years.
Sponsorship: Unmarried child below 21 years old (born within the context of a legal marriage or legally adopted by a Singaporean).
Singapore PR studying in Singapore, residing in Singapore for more than 3 years (of which at least 1 year as PR), passed at least 1 national exam (PSLE, GCE “N” / “O” / “A” Levels), or being in the Integrated Programme (IP).

How long does it take for a Singapore citizenship application to be approved?
All applications for Singapore citizenship are carefully considered and reviewed by ICA. Generally, applications will be processed within 12 months, provided all the required documents are submitted. Depending on the complexity of the case, some applications may take longer to process.
Can I submit an over-the-counter application for Singapore citizenship?
No, you may not be able to submit a citizenship application over the counter. Our immigration specialists will help you submit the applications online.
Am I required to attend an interview for the Singapore citizenship application?
As part of our enhanced Singapore citizenship application process, there is no longer a need to book an appointment for the interview.
When can I apply for Singapore citizenship after rejection?
You should appeal within six months of your rejection. However, you can reapply after 1 year.
After I submit the application for PR, can I change my job?
Yes, you can. If you have changed jobs during the application process, we can upload your updated employment letter and latest payslips.
